To make the most of this food service, here are a few things you can keep in mind while ordering your next train meal.
Do’s
- Place your order only from official IRCTC eCatering’s website i.e. https://www.ecatering.irctc.co.in/, app, call us at 1323, or through IRCTC’s approved aggregator partners.
- Enter all details such as your 10-digit PNR number, delivery station, mobile number, email address, etc. correctly and avoid any errors.
- It is best to check the list of stations where food is delivered beforehand to get more variety and place the order at least 30 mins in advance to get food box delivery on train.
- When your food gets delivered, check your food packaging carefully to ensure it is from a trusted vendor/ food aggregator of IRCTC.
Don’ts
- Do not place your orders from any unauthorised vendors.
- Do not accept the food if it has leaked or the packaging has been tempered in any way.
- Do not share the OTP sent to you via SMS with anyone other than the IRCTC delivery executive.
These are just little things that every passenger should be aware of while ordering food through the IRCTC eCatering ‘Food on Track’ website or app. The app can be easily downloaded from Play Store or App Store. Alternatively, passengers can call on 1323 and the customer care executive will place the order and complete all formalities.
If you’re travelling in a large group of more than 15 individuals, then you can place bulk orders through IRCTC eCatering – Group Food Service. But keep in mind that only those requests that are submitted 24 hours before the journey is processed. Customised food service is available for members of armed forces, police, PSU, government organizations, travel groups, corporate groups, student groups on educational tours, wedding parties, pilgrim groups or groups of senior citizens.
